Don, From what I have gathered over the years: In '67 there were a limited # of V-4 cars outfitted with the trim package from the 850 MC's. Dash with Tacho, complete interior with the padded box seat with storage in the back, the plush reclining seats with headrest on the passenger side, and the wood rim 'Monte Carlo' steering wheel. They did not have the 4-bolt hubs, but did have the 'new' five bolt hubs with disc brakes. The V-4 Monte Carlo had a fender badge located in the same place that the 850 Monte Carlo badge was located - and it said V-4 Monte Carlo.[ corner of the front fender closest to the windshield ] In '68 the the Deluxe model originated. As far as I know the deluxe badges and the dash with Tachometer were the extent of the package. From this the dash with 4-cylinder tachometer has come to be known as the 'Deluxe' dash. So, No your car is not a Monte Carlo, but a V-4 Deluxe, or '68 Deluxe, on my list the second most desireable V-4 car made. If you are tall and the small windshield is bothersome then the '68 Deluxe is the most desireable V-4 Saab.
