comparison. The stroker is relatively unique these days, very simple to care for - engine has 7 moving parts, it sounds marvelous, and even with high tech synthetic oil it smokes a bit. Good strokers are very hard to find, V-4's are much more available. If you want to go fast, carry large loads, or are unwilling to deal with oil in the gas, buy a V-4. If in equal condition, the Stroker will take less maintenance, will probably hold or appreciate in value better and will get a lot more attention. If you are a lazy or unwilling maintainer you can fry that lovely two-stroke engine on one hill, where the V-4 can run lousy for years. The stroker engine can be lifted out of the engine compartmnet by a medium sized guy with a reasonably good back - the V-4 really needs a light hoist for lifting. The v-4 has disc brakes in the front and unless its a Monte Carlo or Special the stroker has drums all around. Parts are for the most part the same except for the engine. Full engine rebuilds cost about the same for either, but useable 'used' V-4's are not that rare, while a good stroker engine is hard to find. In either case be very careful of rust - they can be rusted away in critical areas even in parts of the country where rust is not considered a real problem. Good luck !!!!
