Please bare with me; im new to working on my own car. My question has to do with installing a new mechanical fuel pump (purchased from Northern Power Products)
I haven't removed the old unit yet to see whats behind it. It says when installing the new one to mark the end of the pump pushrod. (What is this? part of the pump, or a seperate piece that makes contact with the end of my pump coming from the cam?)my pump has about 1/2 inch of rod showing out the end, with a spring around it held on by a lock washer and seems to be at the end of its travel, and not able to be adjusted. Are they referring to another piece of rod that runs between the end of the pump mechanism and the cam? is there any trick to installing, or is this a simple bolt on procedure. Sorry if this is elementary for you guys, this is all new to me!
Thanks,
Randy
