All,
The 2nd Annual Green Mountain SAAB Run has come and gone. We left Paul Dolmetsch Motors at about 10:45 on Saturday Morning. Much thanks to Paul for providing breakfast for the 30 people that joined us.
The first half of the run was about 80 miles through the twisting mountain roads between Bennington and Jamaica (VT) where we stopped for lunch at Jamaica State Park. After lunch, Tom Hannan took home the Long Distance Award, for driving from Central NJ. The Peoples Choice Runner-Up was awarded to Ian Whelan in his '86 SPG, and the Peoples Choice Award went to Bruce Turk in his gorgeous '68 Sonett II. Congratulations!
Thankfully Ashli and I drove the route on Friday because the second half of the run was under construction and had to be re-routed. Instead of 100 South from Jamaica we took more back roads and it ended up being a lot more fun. We wound our way back to Bennington and ended at The Bennington Battle Monument where we had Edward Feather, of Edward Feather Photography, take a group photo. His photos of the event should be available for purchase in a few weeks.
We completed the event with a BBQ at Paul Dolmetsch Motors. Unfortunately it was starting to rain so we moved dinner mostly under cover. Everyone seemed to have a good time including Paul. Thanks again to everyone who came out. Ashli and I had a blast but we're very tired.
