doesn't make sense to me.
So without the hairdryer, you crank, it turns over, but doesn't catch. After the hairdryer, it starts right up...
I really doubt water would just hang around in the lines behind the engine while you burned through a couple tanks. For a sanity check, if you have a garage available, you could leave it inside overnight, and see if it started up in a warmer env?
OK, 3 things, gas, air and spark to start.
1. Gas - Do the techron first (easy, even in freezing weather), maybe replace MAP sensor vac line (is clogged / cracked?) I have heard people say "don't drive with less than a quarter tank in the winter to avoid condensation in the fuel tank", but I never listened. Maybe you lose pressure to your fuel rail? but then you would smell some fuel.
2. Air - Maybe clean your AIC w/ carb cleaner? Is the idle rough after you get it started? Check for snow? in air filter box (total guess)
3. Spark - change the plugs, make sure the battery works. Since you have no DI, maybe there's water/ice forming around whatever coils / distrib / wire there instead, check the insulation / container around those items.
I suppose you can always use the blowdryer until spring, when its easier to stay outside and fiddle with things. Good luck.
