Purchasing '97 900 SE - tips for a new owner - LONG

I am in the process of purchasing a '97 900 SE turbo 5-speed, the car has 72k miles and seems to be in great shape (I have not seen it yet but, my brother has driven it and checked it out. I have a few questions about some of the issues the car has and any short term preventative maintainance I should do before bringing the car home (1200 mile trip). The car has an exhaust leak in the intermediate pipe (I take it this is not un-common based on the posts on this subject) - does the stainless sport exhaust replace the intermediate pipe as well or only the front/rear mufflers? The power mirror switch does not move either mirror to the left - I assume I just need to replace the switch. The driver side power window switch pops out when closing the window. All of these items are pretty minor. I have checked with a local dealer and there has not been much done to the car other than normal maintainance. I am thinking I might replace the DI Cassette and keep the old one for a spare. Any thoughts on the belt/tensioner issue? - is there any warning of an impending pulley failure? I plan on changing oil, checking the brake pads, etc. before the trip back anything else I should look at?
Thanks,
Scott
