If you're handy, you can disassemble the mirror switch, clean it, and re-pack it with new grease. Mine had intermittant problems with moving the mirrors in one direction, but after cleaning it out, it's worked perfectly. If you pop the serpentine belt off, you can check the pulleys easily. They shouldn't spin very freely, and they shouldn't move back and forth, either. If they do either of those, then the grease is about gone and they're on their last leg. Like Dean said, though, you might as well just replace the things if you don't know their history.
