Boost should go to the start of the red, not into it. At around 40% into the red the ECU would cut the fuel to the injectors and that would feel as you describe, but the RPMs would not go to zero as you are in gear and that would be impossible with the vehicile motion. Also zero RPMs would mean a stall and you would have to turn the key to off ignition, then back on and crank it to restart if you have an auto box.
Could be a bad ignition switch, and you are loosing power and the instruments and the tachometer would go dead.
The CELs might be accurate, or these could be power disruption artifacts. Maybe the ECU harness plug needs to be reseated.
Any indications for the temp meter other than right on 9 o'clock?
A bad crank pos sensor might cause such problems. Follow its leads and check its connector above the t-stat, and might as well check the wires and connector for the temp sensor too. Mayby some mice damage.
Check that the engine ground cable connection is tight. The engine is moving in the mounts at those boost levels. Perhaps that motion is working a mechanical flaw in the wiring.
DI connector contacts look good?
