I bought this car in Novemeber of last year from a used car dealer. A 1995 NG 900SE (V-6) the car was in beatuiful shape and carfaxed OK, drove great had 114,000 miles on it. I knew of the v-6 problems but I drive less then 500 miles/month so I thought that it would last me a while. After two days the car started to leak water. I took it back the (dealer) guy replaced (cut back and reclamped) a hose. This happened again six weeks later I found a nother hose leaking the same way I fixed it myself. Two days later another hose was leaking. I got suspicious, started to snoop around in the engine compartment and found oil in the water. This is of course not a good sign. I had the car towed back to the dealer. He felt bad and said the headgasket(s) needed to be replaced. It made sence to me The blown gasket would put higher pressured engine oil in the water and this would make the hoses keep leaking. The dealer who felt SO bad about this but gave me a "deal" and replaced the gasket(s) for $1,150. This included resurfacing the head and dyetesting it. I picked up the car and two days later the "low coolant light came on". I consulted the mechanic/dealer he said that there probably was some oil left on the floatswitch even if he flushed the engine several times. He told me to take a turkeybaster and suck out a little oil from the water expansion resevoar in the morning when the car was cold. I did this and everything was fine for 3 months. The car started to leak oil not a lot but enough for me to worry and check the dipstick. It was very low. I put a quart in and decided to check the water and guess where all the oil was. The very next day water started to gush out (hose leaking again) I drove the car to nearest saab shop and they confirmed egine trouble. I called the dealer who again said he felt so bad and was going to pick up the car and leak test it for me for free. He said the only thing he could figure out that could be wrong with the engine was a cracked block but he had never heard of that before with these engines. Any way he has my car and I will call and talk to him about it tomorrow but I need some honest advice first. What is the real likely problem? what are my realistic options? I have found a brand new engine minus the electronics and hoses for $3,200 but that seems like a lot of money to dump into this car. Please give me advice
