Possibly - Contained within the alternator are the brushes and voltage regulator. If the brushes get wet the carbon dust may cause then to stick and not make full conductivity to the armature of the alternator. Also the carbon dust from the brushes may have been washed to the bottom of the alternator closing the air gap causing voltage to be dropped to ground. You may want to go for a ride on the highway and let the high RPMs of the alternator dry it out. But a voltage check tells all and will allow you to see if thing are getting better or worse. This web sit will give you some basic alternator info: "http://www.swedishwrench.com/battery.htm" the see picture link will show you the brushes. You will also need to check the voltage directly at the alternator to make sure your wiring is ok.
Ever car that I have owned, I have had to replace the alternator at least once. One time after driving through a puddle with a Chevy with only 55k mi., I lost the alternator and was never able to recover it. Others were due to high mileage. Should you need to get one, get one with a lifetime warranty. I have gone cheep, and they will only last as long as the warranty.
