Radio/CD changer problems... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Hello, everyone. Last week, my battery died and I ended up replacing my alternator. When I put in a fully charged battery and hooked everything up properly, I proceeded to enter to radio code. The radio and cassette would work just fine, but nothing happened when I pressed the CD button. I was able to insert and eject the CD changer magazine, but the stereo system wouldn't recognize the CD changer.
I found the steps linked below and began to follow them. Prior to disconnecting the CD changer and removing the fuses, I turned the radio off. When I inserted the fuses after several hours, the system never prompted me to enter the radio code. The stereo will not come on and I can't get the "code in" message to appear. I have disconnected the battery, reconnected it, removed fuses, switched fuses, so on and so forth, but to no avail. I am really missing my radio and CD changer and need advice.
To the best of my knowledge, I have tried everything, but hopefully I've just missed something. Any ideas, comments, suggestions, and/or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance for any help. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
