Most modern cd changers use an RF transmitter to send the signal to the radio - the Clarion unit that works with the stock head unit is the only exception I know of. If you want to revert to the old stock deck, and lose the MP3 function (which it sounds like you don't use anyway), you can install a clarion deck - you can get one new in the box from most places for about $120 (you just have to look around).
I've just never been happy with the sound that those bazooka tubes produce - sure they're a decent deal, but I figured that the money I put into the system now will pay off in the future, because I know that I'll like the sound for a long time to come because I used really good components - infinity for dash and rear, a good Sony mp3 deck, Alpine amp, and an MTX sub. Most people I know that have systems 2-3 times more expensive than mine are impressed with the sound.
Depends on what you want though - I figure I don't need one of the electronic massage chairs now - the sub vibrates the back of my seat enough to give me a good massage :)
