Nicole, I got your email and will respond a bit later. In the meantime, you'll have to ask the mechanic about what is the "front seal" unless they listed part numbers. (If they did, post those and we can look them up.)
I would guess "front seal" is the crankshaft seal but it could be something else. I have not replaced that before. I think michael p. had the crankshaft seal replaced at a shop but I'm not sure. It is definitely not DIY. It would be very labor intensive, unless having the timing belt changed. In that case, I would guess it could be done for an additional 1-2 hours labor, maybe more.
We've both replaced the camshaft seals. These are important and are due by the time you get between 100-150k. Mine were not leaking that much when replaced at 125k but everyone recommends it, so I'm glad I didn't wait. This is not DIY for most since you have to remove the timing belt and dig pretty deep. (Not as bad as crankshaft seal though.) Indeed, when the timing belt is changed is the time to do the camshaft seals. Do it next time.
