I have just bought all the parts for the front and rear brake job of my 97 SET.
After having researched the issue I went with Brembo rotors (front & rear) from eEuroparts and PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads. Rear from eEuroparts and front from Sobstory. The shipment was very fast from both. I have not installed the parts yet but according to my research my choice should be the cheapest and possibly the best bang for the buck. The pads I have chosen are very cheap and are said to be dustless and provide quiet and powerful breaking. They are not performance type but I believe that the vast majority of people driving in north America will never have the opportunity to use performance pads for what they are made for. For everyday legal driving, performance pads are underperformers and possibly unsafe.
I am probably one of the fastest drivers on Vancouver roads but I never managed to push the substantial braking power of my 97SET to the limit.
I also value quiet and responsive braking in the city.
For the assembly make sure to perfectly scrape, clean and lubricate with a touch of neverseize the slots where the pads move in the calipers. My car used to pull to one side when breaking hard at speeds above 150 Km/h. The pads also showed uneven wear. It tuned out to be the pads were not free to move in the calipers due to rust built up. I discover that while I rebuilt the rear calipers thinking that was an issue of the pistons sticking. I wasted 50 bucks of new seals.
