I've had 98 900 last week that have taken me through the ringer and back without me really finding anything wrong.

Right now I focusing on finetuning the programming of the potentiometers overlap positions to see if it works.

You have some 7 different switches in the top.
I suspect in your case that the two micro switches in the windshield frame are broken.
It might be difficult to see by looking down into the holes for the dowel pins that the switches are broken since you still see a little trigger that the dowel pin should hit. But that little trigger is suppose to be bigger.

The easiest way (for me) is to hook up my Tech 2 scanner and read each switch on the display while operating the top. That way I can narrow it down pretty fast as to which one of them it is.

You also have two swithches that gets triggered by the tonneau cover when it closes. You can see those switches by opening the tonneau cover only.

No, it's no easy way to bypass the switches since they all interact with each other before entering the TSAS computer.

The TSAS ECU is programmed to shut down the operation if it senses that one switch is not in the right position when the potentiometer tells it is.
That means, the switches needs to be able to show both open and closed circuit at different times to satisfy the TSAS ECU.
