Had the shop that did the work back in January check out my clutch today. They only had a 3 month warranty on parts so I'm taking up a warranty issue with Saab directly. The main reason for having my car checked out is the seal is leaking again. They offered to replace the part and only charge labor ($260) but for the seal to go again in less than a year is ridiculous. I remember it leaking back in June when I was under there to change my oil. -cleaned everything down there to see where the leak was coming from and sure enough, its transmission fluid. Would this explain the rough shifting? Now with a new cable, shifting is better. But is the leaking trany fluid related to the cable breaking again? Its always had a stiff clutch, and leaking trany fluid even before the clutch job in Janauary. 2.5 years ago I had the axle seal replaced. Back in January, they (Swedish Solution, Westbrook, ME) replaced 3 seals while doing the clutch.
I've decided to stop getting angry with my car since its approaching $6k worth of work in the last 3 years and with 137K miles, only to laugh at it since anything can go at this point. Its worth 1/2 of what I owe on it.. so I'm the hole. I have a set of shocks ready to go in when I have a weekend.. In the mean, I'll simply keep topping of the tranny fluid.
