is a common problem with the retrofit. I am so happy I found a place in Santa Clara (Swedish Auto Factory, listed on this site) CA with the cojones to tackle the job. They did a great job with the retrofit. Like you, it was hard for me to find ANYONE who was daring enough to try it. They did it and did it right but at an exhorbitant price. Still I cannot complain. I am cable free!!! :)

From reading that list it looks like they did tackle all the correct seals, so true to their name, seems like they know what they were doing with swedish cars. Now the actual craftsmanship is another issue. But if the list indicates anything, it shows that they are aware of what needed to be change, so I would assume they did the job right.

You got off easy with those prices. The rate for a clutch for me was 8 hours at 93.00/hour. That was the 'cheap' labor rate :) The clutch was half of the job :).

Back to the issue at hand, it is quite possible that after all, the clutch cable needed adjustment and that you will be set for a long time. The stealership that told you they never heard of a clutch cable problem is not to be trusted. Either that, or everyone there is blind, mute, deaf and dumb.
