Clutch conversion...worth it??? Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Wed, 29 Sep 2004 08:50:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, everyone. I'm debating whether or not I should convert my cable clutch to a hydraulic clutch. I have found a (what I believe to be) reasonable kit, which is linked below. I'm fairly competent in regard to DIY work, but I think this would probably be left up to the professionals.
If anyone has either done this or had this done in the past, I would greatly appreciate your feedback and experience. Also, what type of cost would I be looking at if I had my local Saab mechanic perform the conversion ($65/hour labor)? I noticed that it is also recommended that the entire clutch kit be replaced during this conversion...should I take note of the recommendation or pass it off as a business simply wanting to sell something? If it is needed, what would be the potential cost of also having this done at the mechanic?
Any input, feedback, suggestions, comments, pros and/or cons, or questions for clarification purposes are more than welcome. Thanks in advance. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
