If you can change your own clutch, then you can probably do this conversion on your own. I just had the hydraulic retrofit installed while changing my clutch, rear engine seals and shiftlinkage. This was done by an independent Saab shop. The total time charged was 16 hours. 8 for the clutch, 8 for the retrofit. This might be higher than in other places. I thought it was a little high on labor time, but I got to say I am so please I do not care. There are some minor changes to the clutch. The clutch arm is gone, you have to drill a hole into the firewall (there is a template for this) and remove the entire pedal assembly in sake of the new clutch pedal assembly. It is definitely labor intensive. If you are really handy and you got all the tools (you need at least 2 hydraulic jacks, excellent stands, etc.) you can probably do it yourself. I did not have the tools to get this job done, and considering so many other things needed work, it was easy to decide on having someone else do it.
The cost was outrageous, but again, well worth it in my opinion. You will have a horrible time finding a shop willing to try it. Must dealers would not do it on the basis that it is 'not a Saab sponsored upgrade' (Huh?!?!?! WTH?!? ---Exactly!).
In summary, well worth the arm, leg and first born that I paid for it.
