Dean, thanks for the input on the 3" exhaust. More performance is always nice - but I'm also one to keep things pretty much stock or OEM on my cars. Probably the most tuning I'll do on the engine is a K&N air filter. Suspension is the bane of my car right now.
Given the poor condition of the rest of the system, and its emminent replacement, I would like to put the repair costs of th flex pipe toward replacing the entire system.
Are there any problems with mixing Aftermarket and OEM parts? For example, the aftermarket turbo header/converter listed on saabsite.com for about $450, with the OEM intermediate pipe and Saab sport exhaust from Taliaferro? The Saab sport exhaust is an attractive option because it is stainless. Or am I better off going all OEM for compatability reasons? Or, will a stainless exhaust outlive my 188k mile car, and I should just go aftermarket the whole way back? Of course, if I replace this car w/ another Saab in a few years, I could always swap out the exhaust! I plan on keeping this car for at least another 4-6 years.
Thanks,
jesse
