Sounds like the pump to block adapter o-rings are age/heat hardened and leaking. The pump needs to be removed to do this. They will all do this.
Many have DIY'd. Otherwise pay for 3 hours of shop time. With that much $$$/effort the cost of a new pump is trivial. So replace the pump. Doing 0-rings only then doing the job over again later for the pump body would be a drag.
Pumps or pump kits come with the needed o-rings. If its the pump seal, same action required. Do a coolant flush while you are at it and a new 89C stat. You can get complete pump or a 1/2 pump to mount on old pump back-half.
Search drs<underscore>intall for a detailed description of pump R&R. Look for other cooling system posts for other good info for draining etc. If you ever want to intall a Viggen IC, now is the time to fit the new style lower rad hose that is needed to clear the new turbocharger discharge hose routing... that hose is cheap too.
While pump is off, fitting a new upper idler wheel and a short belt would be trivial, you will be part way there aready.
