That was my propane post.
Propane as will flow as gas does. For starting fluid to work you would have to pour it on, very scary. You would have a mass of fuel. If the propane popped, that would be it. Starter fluid would flash all over and jump into the container in your hand and all hell would break loose. Starting fluid also has a broad mixture which will ignite and that makes is perhaps more dangerous again. When a small discharge from the end of a hose with flowing propane hits a VAC leak, this will change the AF mixture of the engine. Movement of air around the engine will safely carry the propane away. Again, as in the orginal posts, do this out of doors and when the wind is calm.
Propane: get a basic cheap propane torch and remove the burner head and orifice
so now you have normal idle and still have high NOX?
