I too had dealt with a stripped (lower) alternator bolt. Fear not, it can be extracted for $2 and replaced for $4 from the dealer. I tried the coveted Craftsmen Extractor and it did jack. Don't spend the $50 for the set.
The clamping pressure of the bolt is within the head. Find a drill bit the same diameter as the shaft of the bolt and drill off the head using WD-40 to lubricate. Once the head is gone, the shaft should spin freely. Pick up a bolt extractor (I picked up a Milwauke extractor at Home depot for $2) Find a drill bit 1/3 small than the diamter of the of the shaft and drill down the enter about an inch, or enough the the extractor to bite. Reverse drill with the extractor and teh shaft should come right out If the bolt sleeve is damaged, it should be replaced. I was able to reuse mine.
Unfortunately I can't give you specifics on drill bit size, and extractor size since I simply don't remember, but the steps are there.
Good luck.
