Gotta tell you I swear by mine. I am a proud owner of a 1995 900SE V-6 Convertible with over 190K miles under it's belt. I have replaced the timing belt about four times now but the tensioner and pulley have only been replaced once with a aftermarket product recommended by my friend Jeff at Swedish Solutions in Miami, but at 190K miles I've also replaced the battery two times, the brakes about five times, the distributor once, the shocks two times and I'm on my fifth set of tires, all of it is due to normal wear and tear of my daily driver. (Did I mention about forty set of wipers, oh, and the little ones for the headlights are really hard to find at Pep-Boys)
Thie is my third Saab and it has been the most worry free, less maintenance , more enjoyable one I have ever had. I do prefer (and I'm sure some people might disagree) the extra power you feel with the V-6, from the moment your start accelerating it is a smooth increase of power without the jerkiness of the Saab turbo. It's great to have the torque from the get go instead of having to get to 3800 RPM before you get it. Take care of your car, and try to find a knoledgable Saab mechanic in your area that won't experiment with solutionsfor your car toubles at your expense.
