ACC blower success

Just a follow up for some ACC fan issues I've dealt with recently. Maybe it will save someone a few hours and/or dollars.
My fan quit blowing a few months ago. The blower motor tested ok so I went on to replace the ACC controller under the passenger dash. While I was at it, I also cleaned the blower contacts under the wiper assembly using a toothbrush with a vinegar/baking soda mixture. When I put everything back together, the fan worked again.
A few weeks ago, the fan quit again for a few days, worked for a few days, then died again. I was initially concerned that the ACC controller burned out again because I used silver thermal compound instead of the silicon stuff, or maybe I didn't apply it correctly. Rather than replace the $85 part again (or replace the $5 transistor on the original part), I decided to revisit the blower contacts first. I removed the cover to expose the fan casing and wires. I wiggled the wires and fan started again. Now we're gettings somewhere. I cleaned up the contacts with my dremel and sure enough, the fan came back to life.
Anyway, when in doubt, take the time to very thoroughly clean those contacts - make 'em sparkle. In my case, the wiring even tested ok with a DMM the first time around, but I should have known from looking at it that it was going to be a problem.
