I have a 1998 900S (non-turbo) and I have not that many problem, just the regular items.
The only thing I had to do every year is to clean the IAC valves (easy to do). The exhaust system was to change too. After two years the brakes are still good, I am still waiting for them to wear out and take pictures but no luck!! :-))
Look at my web site, I took pictures of all the repairs/maintenance I did on my car. Most of them are really easy to do and it can save you a lot of money.
Good luck!
