Remove wheels and use channel lock type wrench to grab the pad backing plates and move them to push the pistons back. If they do not move, there is a problem, if they move ok, ... perfect. Pump pads back after doing each corner to avoid overflow at reservoir. And AS ALWAYS, never pump the petal to the floor as this damages the master cylinder pump seals on older master cylinders. Put a short piece of 2x4 behind the petal to limit travel. If you do not heed this advice, the MC may start to go bad in the next few weeks or months. Once it starts to let the petal move to the floor on occasion, then there is more accululation of 'full stroke damage'. From there it gets worse and worse until one of two things happen, you replace/rebuild the MC or you total the vehicle.
There is probably no need to remove the spring clips and pins, but you might have to to do this. There are other methods to force the pads back, be resourceful as aways.
This caliper design is trouble prone and goes back at least to the 1960's. I lived with these on Opel's and Volvo's. I know they were on other european makes as well. And the p-brake drum in the real disk really sucks too. It is about time that GM-Saab went to cable operated disk calipers like GM uses on GM production in the USA and Canada. That would reduce cost, complexity and weight while been more trouble free.
