I have found a source for the old bolts, at least for now. Don't know how long it will take until it dries up.
And I suspect that the bolts that eEuroparts are selling is the old ones too but I don't know for sure.
I can promise you though that the bolts in the 2000 9-3 is loose and they are of the new (bad) style.
I replace those nowadays with the old style that I have found whenever I do a retorque.
So as sooner you get the valve cover off the 9-3 the better it is.
So far, 100% of all the 97 and up cars I have checked have had loose head bolts.
