I think that this would be a good kid car. Not too fast and not too slow. Very safe and reliable. Very roomy, inexpensive to purchase and insure. The Autobox is a 4sp Asian Werner(sp?), so it is much more reliable than the 9000 autos. If it is pre-1995.5 make sure the front suspension has been upgraded. If 2.3NA make sure the oil has been changed religiously and don't hesitate to pull the valve cover off in order to visualy inspect for sludge before you agree to buy it. I am sure that I have missed somethings, but you are familiar with SAABs so you know what to look for in general. IMO these are a pretty bullet proof car so long as they have been taken care of. It seems that alot of the common problems with these cars(900S) are associated with the Manual transmission, e.g. clutch cables, shift linkage, etc.
