The amount of pry damage on the inboard pad suggests that its piston was resisting movement and that is was siezing up. But if you decided to replace it, I can only assume that you knew the caliper was bad. So I am confused by the question.
Were the pads stuck in the capiper? If so, perhaps that is the problem (common) and the pistons are fine. Rust deposits binding the pad backing plates can be removed, bare hack saw blade suggested. Lithium grease or never sieze applied to these contact areas to prevent repppppeat :)
PS this design sucked in the 1960s, glad that Saab abandoned that. But still stuck with the also so bogus parking brake drums in the rotors.
