Don't blame the messenger... is the clutch!

I believe the Clutch is to blame, not the installation. :) Come on the installation is NOT rocket science. There are some tricks, like lubricating certain parts of the cable so the bending tension is minimized (constant pressing of the pedal forces some bending forces by where the cable head meets the clutch arm). But in reality, these tricks, probably are not the source of your problems. I really, really, really doubt that the installation was that bad that led to premature failure of the cable. If I was a gambling man I would be the house that the real culprit is the Clutch itself.
