The old sensor while in the "not starting" condition measured 770 ohms while still installed. The new one right out of the package measured in at 860 ohms. I did not measure it once installed, but assumed nothing different would take place.
Richard, unfortunately I did not check voltage across the fuel pump fuse while in "hard start" condition. Sorry about that. But since I could not start the car with the fuel pump hotwired, I am assuming the other functioning of the CKP sensor (telling the injectors what to do) was where the problem was. Fuel was at the rail, but not getting into the cylinders at this point.
