...I used the wire stump from my old fuel pump and put it on the new one. All wires lined up correctly with their corresponding matches. Fuel gauge works like a charm - I put about two gallons of gas in to check everything before I tightened everything back up and the gauge read just above empty. After tightening the fuel tank straps down I filled it up the rest of the way and the gauge went all the way up!
My old pump must have been really stumbling for quite some time before it died - with the new pump the engine is REALLY smooth! Now if I can just get rid of the sore muscles from doing it!! Hmmm - maybe it's time to install a pit and small lift in the garage!! :)
