Re: Question for SWEDECAR V6 TIMING BELT Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Question for SWEDECAR V6 TIMING BELT, Bob, Sat, 29 Jan 2005 16:33:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Since I don't know the "full" history of the car I would install a new tensioner/belt package at 125K miles.
If it is proven beyond any doubts that the whole tensioner package/belt was replaced at 90K and that it was installed in the proper way, you should be able to go until 155K until the whole belt and tensioner is replaced again.
This only goes for if everything else looks good like no oil leaks from timing belt area and that the rubber seal on timing cover looks good and so forth.
It's difficult with first time V6 customers and I try to intervju them about the timing belt and if they have paper work for the last replacements.
Your perfectly running car can turn into a heap of worthless junk in a split second if any of several parts related to the timing belt fails and make the belt skip or break.
