Re: Oil Pan Removal Advice needed. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Oil Pan Removal Advice needed., iveand ![]() |
I don't know if you are going to find something of significance in the oil pan?
I'm more worried that the oilpump and front engine cover is worn out together with that worn oil pressure reducer valve.
And the reason for that is worn out balance chain sprockets.
Since I don't know how "dirty" the valve cover was I can't say for sure but most of the none turbo engines with balance issues that I have seen had no sludge problems at all but still had completly worn out balance shaft parts.
It's possible to loosen the subframe and just leave the two rear most bolts loosely in place. The engine will "hang" from the transmission mount and right motor mount and be slightly supported from the rear motor mount and subframe.
It is a tight fit to sneak out the oil pan but possible.
