I found some posts about aligning the switch, but I do not see an obvious way to do that. It has a plastic housing and just snaps into a metal bracket (see below on the left side of upper pic), it is held in by the tension of the snaps. I think the bolt above the switch mounting hole may be what adjusts the rest position on the pedal, not sure. I suppose Anders or someone like him would know.
I was going to inspect the clutch cable for frayed ends first. I need to understand the clutch and cable and the Saab cable service kit better so I don't have to do it more than once. The original cable lasted almost 100k miles, if done right, it it should last the remaining life of the car and so should a new clutch.
