The procedure is pretty much standard for all such work. Just pull really hard 'til you hear a loud snap. Once the plastic is broken off, it'll be real clear how it was *supposed* to come off. Or you could check in Haynes, where it tells you to refer to section 15; section 15, of course, is about something totally unrelated....
In this case the plastic triangle on the car door interior should pull straight away from the door; i,e, *not* a hinge-like motion or sliding parallel to the door. The underside of the plastic has some posts with a split-sphere doodad that (when young and resilient) snaps into a hole in the door. I think I snapped off half of one of these, but the piece stays in place pretty well anyways. I sure wish somebody in Sweden would decide that screw heads don't look all that bad after all...
Anyway, after that it's simple. Three torx screws hold the mirror on, and there's a plug for the motor(s). Replacement is the reverse of removal, with the exception of the loud snapping sound...
