Just to get the lingo right.
I assume from your first post that you had the fuel pump unit replaced not the fuel sending unit?
The fuel sending unit is usually what we call the part that is sending fuel level signals to the fuel gauge.
To be able to replace just the fuel pump unit (aka fuel pump insert) they have to take the whole fuel pump basket apart which is also the fuel sending unit.
Who knows what they did when taking that apart and hooking up the fuel lines again?
I am not a friend of replacing just the fuel pump insert because I don't feel I can deliver a quality job.
Yes, the price of a complete fuel pump assembly is high but so is my time if I would need to go in there again if something didn't work out quite right the first time.
Many people have themself replaced just the fuel pump insert but that is up to them.
Without taking the whole gas tank down again and inspect the installation I wouldn't be able to tell what they did wrong.
