An independent import shop will be doing it, with me in attendance. The pros will do any engine work, so it makes sense for them to do this.
I had not planned on the regulator, not sure if you mean to check it only if the pressure is low, or just check it anyway, but I am taking suggestions... (chuckle).
I was thinking about the oil cooler thermostat, but I may do that myself one day if I figure out how to test it. I want to keep it to three hours of labor.
For the moment, the plan is this:
- Compression check/leak down
- Test oil pressure (dash indicator does work btw.)
- Look for headgasket leaks
- Pull the valve cover, and check ventillation lines for blockage
- Check head bolts to stage one
- Inspect the sprockets (not sure of the proper name) and chain for slack
- See what we can get out of the oil pan w/o removing it
