How much slack is acceptable in the timing chain?
(Searching here brings up various numbers for slack)

Any ideas on what to expect from an oil pressure check?

1996 SET, 100k miles, going to have the compression and oil pressure tested this week, then look under the valve cover (again), measure the timing chain slack and look for loose head bolts. Then fish around in the filter and sump, hopefully w/o resorting to removing the oil pan.

Going to have the pros turn the wrenches this time, they figure 2 hrs (three if I watch and take pics...) I have the head bolt torque settings and what to look for in the compression checks, but still need some references for oil pressure and timing chain.

If all looks good, planning to run Auto-Rx in the engine with a fresh load of oil.

Any other suggestions on what to look for at the same time will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...
