I think I hurt my transmission

I drove my car tonight for a few miles without using the clutch to shift. It was only about five miles and I took it pretty easy, for those of you from Minneapolis, from the entrance ramp of Huron Blvd. to Cretin and Grand Aves. Living only a few miles away, and there being no shoulder there, my car would have been towed immediately. In the heat of the moment I figured it would be okay, now I have second thoughts. I would rev up my car to the point where I could shift it into gear. On the freeway I had to go all the way into fourth because there was no shoulder to drive on. I ground the gears only a couple of times, the worst was once going into second. As I was getting onto the freeway I went to shift into fourth and my clutch cable snapped, there was hardly any warning. Just before it happed I had to accelerate quickly to avoid an accident and did a hard shift into second. Immediately afterwards I heard a creaking every time I pushed the clutch in. I want to know if I did serious damage to my transmission. It’s a 1995 900s with 85k miles, original transmission, clutch and cable. Also where is the best place to find a cable.
