Both the turbo and NA engines will produce more power on premium fuel. There will be no risk of knocking if the engine is otherwise well maintained. If the engine is retarding the ignition to cope, MGPs could go down and the cost savings would then maybe not what they seem.
Premium fuel will reduce injector and combustion chamber deposits to some extent. Cheaper fuel will require that you use a fuel system cleaner more often. The quality of the injector spray pattern does effect the effective octane of the fuel/air mixture, as well as starting and economy. Techron Concentrate is hard to get in Canada, but some have reported that they can get it from Chevron gas stations... where they exist.
And high ethanol fuels will reduce your MPGs by around 5%, which increases your costs by 5% above the posted price on the pump. So avoid any fuels listing high ethanol content (10%).
