I've been posting about problems I've been having lately with the clutch on my 95 900S. Off and on, it will stick a bit, causing hard shifting or inability to engage gears. Giving the clutch cable return spring usually solves this until it happens again hours or days later. I brought my car into the dealer for possibly a new clutch cable or thinking the holes in my clutch pedal had ovaled out, because of the amount of freeplay that had developed. They are telling me I need a new clutch. I see how if my clutch and throwout bearing were bad, it could cause this problem, but I don't trust when they look at a car in which the pedal travels halfway to the floor before it evan takes up the clutch cable and immediately blame the throwout bearing. It seems obvious to me that the cable needs adjustment or replacement. Any ideas? There is no slipping or noises when the clutch works and the clutch itself has about 80k pure highway miles.
