What about Main Relay? Posted by iveand [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 95 900SE Turbo ...Still no start, GaryC, Thu, 10 Mar 2005 23:26:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I know your fuel pump is buzzing, and I am not familiar with your other symptoms, but it shure would be easy to swap out that relay and see if it helps. In my case, I had a couple of "minor" no start issues after replacing the crank sensor. Then swapping out main relay was my next move, and I have had NO problems since. If the relay is "flaky" and takes a few seconds to engage, it is possible (?) that the engine gets flooded from residule gas in the rail (even though fuel pump wouldn't be energized until after main relay kicks on). This is my working theory at least, because I had a hard time accounting for the problems when just isolated on the crank sensor. I have a 2.3 NA, however, so slightly different system.

Also there was the weird post about a month ago about a new t-stat solving a similar hard start problem? I found that surprising, but it seems as if it was the problem. Sorry I don't have time to look for it right now.
