Leak-down (part 2)

Planning on doing a second leak-down test on my engine tomorrow, this time hands on and with the help of a couple competent mechanics with some experience and the right tools. Unfortunately, none of us have done any significant work on a Saab engine before. Looking for suggestions if anyone has them.
The last leak-down was done by the pros about 500 miles and two cans of valve cleaner ago, and showed 78%(!) leakage on #2 cylinder. Conventional compression test done at the same time showed even compression across four cylinders, 142-145 psi. See link for details.
I am hesitant to tear down the engine because the car runs well at city or hwy speeds with no loss of power or mpg (14-18 city, 28-34 hwy). No coolant in the oil, no significant oil loss, no obvious leaks from the engine block. Two applications of valve cleaner have been run since the first test, and Auto-Rx is being run with some new oil and filter now.
One theory is a burned or damaged valve, another is carbon deposits interfering with valve seat, spring, or guide.
