Thanks Steve (& PM),
Now that its cold and snowing out, I'll be able to find it easily <g>. The first sensor you mentioned (ICE) is working fine -- temp gauge and rad fan behave perfectly. It's the second one (T5) that I was looking for. It sounded like other folks have cured their "car dies on first cold start of the day" symptoms by replacing this sensor -- it certainly *sounds* like a reasonable explanation for the problem. So I'm suprised to hear that they fail so rarely. Just curious -- are you in SoCAl or someplace where its always warm ?
Jeff
p.s. My engine has been slopped over w/ road salt, so it might be a matter of cruddy electrical connections on an otherwise good sensor.
p.p.s. I'm prolly gonna replace fuel pump, filter,FPR fairly soon regardless -- one of those paranoid pre-emptive deals. 114k miles ....
