I just replaced my driver-side (LH) strut mount through a warranty 3 weeks ago from hitting a pothole about 6 weeks ago (141k). Although I've hit numerous potholes previously while on the OEM's without any problems, the Scantech ones, which were replaced 3k miles ago (at 138k), failed. Now the warranty replacement has failed again. There's already a crack (not as severe as the first crack) along the inside stud. The previous crack was along the 2 outer studs. The link below of the previous post has pictures so you can see what I mean. I talked to eeuroparts and they offered a credit towards the purchase of the OEM's which are almost twice the price.

What are the chances of 2 failures? We've had some nasty weather leaving plenty of poorly plowed roads, thus giving my suspension a workout. Visually, I haven't seen any cracking on the passenger side mount which was also replaced at 138k. Whats teh torque specs on the bolts? I simply snugged them with the twist of my wrist. I haven't any luck with Scantech on my car. My RH Control arm needs replacement again, and they're only 2 years old. In fact both sides are 2 years old except the LH side is OEM and is fine.

Any thoughts?
