If your shocks are old, I'd strongly recommend that you replace them as well. I did my swaybar first, then shocks like 2 weeks later. Each one was a huge improvement. Both at the same time would be make for a very large grin.
Both jobs are pretty straightforward DIY. As mentioned, be prepared for the heads to twist off the old swaybar bolts (the new one comes w/ fresh bolts, at least from Talliaferro.) Some use a drill, I used a Sawzall on the flimsy bracket behind the mount. Once the bolts are out, you might need to whack the old swaybar w/ a hammer to break it loose, depending on the amount of crud your car has on it. But apart from little issues like these, it's basically just 4 bolts.
Rear shocks are also pretty easy DIY. Be sure to use some (e.g., silicone) goo to seal the rubber shock bushings to the car to prevent leaks. The carpet in the trunk has some "cut carpet here" embossings where you cut a U-shaped access flap to get to the top of the shocks.
Cheers,
Jeff
