The DI interprets knocking condtions by measuring ionization currents across the plug gap by applying a 70 volt potential. This functionality can be faked out and performance can be less if the center electrode is very small, or the electrodes are very hot. For high output mods, it has been found that the BPCR7ES works better than the 6ES or any of the small electrode platinum plugs.
The 7ES plug will not improve power in a stock system and may foul as it runs colder.
What turbo is used is not an issue. And the turbo does not determine boost pressures, the APC function of the ECU and BPC does that. A larger turbo will be effective at delivering higher CFMs of air on a highly modified system. So as upgrades go, changing the turbocharger is probably the last thing that would be done.
