I had my clutch changed in february and after the job was done, there was a clunk during braking and acceleration. A post that I had made last week suggested that the clunk could be caused by a loose subframe or a loose motor mount. This past weekend in NYC my car suddenly wouldn't shift: I was pretty sure that the clutch cable broke. The mechanic working on the car confirmed my suspicions with the clutch cable and with the loose subframe. My question is: Could a loose subframe cause a clutch cable to break?
